German partner - Schloss Gottorf
Schloss Gottorf in Schleswig was a European cultural centre in 1650-1700, and from that period there is a vast collection of music, the Bokemeyer Sammlung, which hides many musical treasures yet to be uncovered. As it lies in Schleswig-Holstein, in an area of changing borders through the centuries, it is of special interest to German-Danish cross-cultural collaboration and we are very happy to work with them for Sommerbarock this year. One of the concerts will be held in the castle chapel, an original space from the 17th century, and also music from the Bokemeyer Sammlung will form an integral part of the course programme. For this purpose, Ondřej Šindelář is currently doing research on the collection for repertoire which fits the ensemble, and the music will also be published in connection with the course. Petra and Ales Ambrosi, baroque oboes
Petra Ambrosi studied recorder at the conservatory of Teplice with Ales, whom she later married. She went on to study Baroque oboe in Verona with Paolo Grazzi and later with Marcel Ponseele in Bruxelles. Already during her studies, she joined ensembles such as Collegium 1704 and Collegium Marianum, and now regularly plays with Il Pomo d'Oro, {oh!} Orchestra historiczna, Camerata Øresund and Akademie für Alte Musik. Ales Ambrosi first studied modern oboe in Pilsen, and joined the Radio Orchestra Pilsen, orchestra Karlovy Vary and Radio Orchestra Prague. Later, he got the opportunity to pursue baroque oboe and recorder studies in Amsterdam, London, Strasbourg and Linz. He performs and records with amongst others Ars Antiqua Austria, Camerata Øresund, Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, {oh!} Orchestra historiczna, Capella Cracoviensis and Pandolfis Consort Wien, and has performed with people like Emma Kirkby, Ton Koopman, Christoph Pregardien and Magdalena Kozena. |
