The duo performs Lieder for voice and piano and works for violin and piano by composers such as: Beethoven, Strauss, Mozart, Schubert, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and others.
Maria Johannsen is born in Denmark and has studied with Jytte Carl in Copenhagen. Simultaneously, Maria also studied theoretical physics first in Kiel and later at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, and took an MSc. Maria has many years of international concert experience and has performed at numerous occasions as a soloist in oratorios, church concerts, concerts with opera arias and duets, and especially Lieder recitals.

Giuly Johannsen is born in Italy and grew up there, in England and in Denmark. She attends college. She began playing the violin when she was 5 years old. Besides the violin she also plays the piano, as Lieder accompaniment and chamber music. Giuly was an apprentice in 2016 in Slesvigske Musikkorps and the Royal Danish Orchestra, where she was allowed to play on the concertmaster's Stradivarius. She receives music teaching from Maria Johannsen, Sholto Kynoch, director of Oxford Lieder festival, and studies privately in Copenhagen.
